Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actor who was famous for her portrayal as the fiery attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name following her marriage. As a child, she was a naturally talented actor. At the Maryland contest with high school students, she took home the award for Best Actress. Apart from her role at the theater, she also worked with 'The Washington Ballet Company.' She received an acting degree from New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, her debut role in a major film, earned her a lot of respect. It was followed by other films such as 'Boogie Nights Spark as well as Blue Streak. Soul Food received a lot of reviews for her performance. In addition, she was a part of TV series such as Second Time Around' and Empire. At the beginning of her career she performed in several stage plays. Parker is also involved in politics, is married to model-actor Boris Kodjoe. Two children were born to them.
Born to Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria up to the age of seven, Contractor was well-versed in traveling around the globe and in a wide range of cultures at a very young age. She attended boarding school between the ages of 7 to 9 in London. After that the family returned home to Toronto (Canada) in Canada, where she were raised for her entire life. Contractor was an outstanding pupil in Toronto and trained as the classical ballet dancer. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school that specializes in the arts) she studied dance and theatre. At 16 after a decade of years of dance Contractor discovered she was looking to study acting professionally. She received a full-scholarship grant to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. The university offered her master's degree in theatre and double majored in sociology and psychology. Contractor was a student who'd completed her university degree, went on to audition in an open audition for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. Contractor was offered the opportunity to take part in the conservatory course, in which only eight males and four females are selected for a 20-week crash course in classical theatre, which she eagerly took. Contractor's spot was assured for the following series of plays as she was offered the role for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
